Vermillion Institute Nation Specific Identities

Vermillion Institute Nation Specific Identities

A series of five nation-specific identities were developed for the Vermillion sustainability initiative. The individual identities must have a direct visual relationship with the master Vermillion identity while expressing relevant cultural significance for each country. This first group of national identities was created for Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and United States. The master Vermillion Institute cooperation emblem and sustainability emblem were created by Hartman Design Studio based in Calgary

The final solution was developed using a localizing design strategy. The existing visual language for Vermillion (a series of interlocking dots arranged in a naturally-occurring seed design) was used to illustrate the national flags for each country.
